Dallas Stars forward Roope Hintz will miss a week due to a facial injury, though he has avoided a fracture. General manager Jim Nill stated on Tuesday that Hintz needs to keep his heart rate low for 5-7 days to prevent swelling or increased pressure. The 28-year-old was hit in the face by a puck during the second period of Saturday’s 5-4 loss to Edmonton and did not return to the game.

Hintz is currently tied for second on the Stars with 25 goals and ranks fourth in points with 52 through 59 games this season.
Over the course of seven NHL seasons, he has accumulated 362 points (172 goals, 190 assists) in 451 career games. Dallas selected him in the second round of the 2015 draft.
