Marcus Freeman Shares Update on Son Vinny’s Wrestling Success
Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman, while preparing for the upcoming season, recently shared a proud moment from his son Vinny’s wrestling career.
Vinny Freeman reached a milestone with his 100th career win and secured third place at the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) State Wrestling Championships. Coach Freeman celebrated the achievement on social media, using the hashtag “VinnysDad.”
Vinny, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound athlete who competes in the 175-pound wrestling division, has also drawn interest from college programs, including a visit from Michigan wrestling coach Sean Bormet. In addition to wrestling, he is a standout football player.
Meanwhile, the Fighting Irish are preparing for their annual Blue and Gold spring game, scheduled for April 12, 2025, at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana. The game will be broadcast on NBC’s Peacock network.
