Analyst Suggests Bills Target Khalil Mack for Pass Rush Help

The Buffalo Bills are once again looking to strengthen their roster after another playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. With the Chiefs falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, Buffalo remains focused on overcoming their biggest AFC rival.

NFL analyst Kay Adams recently suggested that the Bills should pursue nine-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Khalil Mack. On her show Up and Adams, Adams highlighted Mack as a potential game-changer for Buffalo’s defense, which ranked 18th in sacks last season.

“Do they take a swing on Khalil Mack? Do they bring him to Buffalo, where he played college ball?” Adams said. “The pass rush could surely use a boost.”

Mack, who turns 34 on Saturday, is coming off a season with 39 tackles and six sacks after signing a one-year, $20 million deal. The previous year, he recorded a career-high 17 sacks. His resume includes three All-Pro selections, the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year award, and a spot on the Hall of Fame All-2010s team.

A return to Buffalo would be fitting for Mack, who was a dominant force at the University at Buffalo, setting FBS records for tackles-for-loss (76) and forced fumbles (16). His NFL career has been equally impressive, ranking 13th all-time with 142 tackles for loss.

Buffalo already has Von Miller, one of Mack’s former AFC West rivals, and pairing the two could create a formidable defensive front. Whether the Bills make a move for Mack remains to be seen, but adding him could provide the defensive boost they need to compete at the highest level.
