AMAZING: Arkansas QB Taylen Green named Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week

Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green’s exceptional performance in the Razorbacks’ 58-25 victory over Mississippi State earned him the Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week honor for games ending October 26. Green’s efforts included completing 23 of 30 passes for 314 yards and a career-high five touchdowns, along with rushing for 79 yards and an additional score on just eight carries. This feat makes Green the first Arkansas quarterback since Ryan Mallett in 2010 to achieve five passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in one game. His performance ranks second nationally for single-game touchdown passes this season and places him alongside Clemson’s Cade Klubnik as one of only two Power 4 quarterbacks with such a stat line in 2024.

Green’s five-touchdown game against an SEC opponent is the first for an Arkansas quarterback since Brandon Allen threw six against Ole Miss in 2015. This effort guided the Razorbacks to an impressive 673 total yards, marking the team’s third 600-yard game of the season—a notable achievement considering Arkansas managed only four games with 600+ yards from 2018 to 2023.

This latest recognition is Green’s fifth award of the week, complementing his SEC Offensive Player of the Week title, a spot on the Manning Award Star of the Week list, and honors from both the Davey O’Brien Great 8 and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award honorable mentions.

The Razorbacks, looking to continue their momentum, host No. 19 Ole Miss this Saturday at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Arkansas has a strong track record against Ole Miss at home, winning their last five matchups in Fayetteville since 2008.
