TRENDING: 3-Time All-Pro Publicly Announces He Wants To Play For Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are on bye this week after going 5-0 to start the season. Minnesota has undoubtedly been one of the league’s biggest surprises this season. They’ve caught the attention of experts, rival teams, and now free agents.

Zach Gelb of Sirius XM interviewed cornerback Patrick Peterson on Friday, October 11. Peterson informed Gelb that he is continuing his exercise regimen and is prepared to join an NFL secondary if the opportunity arises:

Cardinals' Patrick Peterson releases statement amid trade rumours

“I am still training. “I’m still working out because my mind is still in it,” Peterson explained. “It’s not that I can’t physically play or that I don’t feel like I can give my all. I believe I still have enough in my tank to help a team win, but the decision is out of my hands. So, for the most part, I’m doing everything I can to be prepared in case the phone rings.”

Gelb cited a few clubs as potential possibilities to sign Peterson, but he came back to the Vikings as the one he’d most like to see the cornerback join.

“I’d like to be there too, man,” Peterson added. “I adore the coaching staff there. Coach Kevin [O’Connell] — I got the opportunity to create a solid relationship with him over the course of nine months, and it’s just a terrific atmosphere and organization to be around. And fantastic folks to work with on a daily basis.”

After 10 seasons in Arizona, Peterson signed with the Vikings in 2021. Following two one-year contracts with Minnesota worth $8 million and $4 million, he signed a two-year contract worth $14 million with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Peterson was released by Pittsburgh in March and has since been available as a free agent. Here is a glance at his career statistics:
