Mims is set to make his first NFL start this weekend against a struggling Carolina Panthers pass rush, which could provide him a less daunting challenge as he adjusts to his new role.
Despite Brown’s injury, the Bengals can take some comfort in the expectation that the 31-year-old veteran will make a full recovery, but in the meantime, Mims will need to prove himself capable of filling the void in protecting quarterback Joe Burrow and contributing to the offensive success moving forward.

Bengals starting right tackle Trent Brown sustained a right knee injury during the second quarter of Monday’s game against the Washington Commanders and was carted off the field after spending several minutes down. Teammates helped him up, and though the situation looked concerning, the hope is that the injury isn’t as serious as it initially appeared.
Unfortunately, Brown has been ruled out for the remainder of the game, leaving Amarius Mims to step in at right tackle in his absence. The Bengals will now have to rely on Mims to protect quarterback Joe Burrow as Brown’s status moving forward is monitored.
