The New York Jets entered the 2025 offseason with a clear goal: to strengthen the supporting cast around their franchise quarterback. However, as the initial wave of free agency settled, their actions—or lack thereof—raised more concerns than clarity. While Gang Green made a strong statement by securing a quarterback, the remainder of their offseason moves highlighted lingering roster weaknesses. If the Jets are truly committed to contending in the AFC playoffs, they must make one more pivotal move before the season kicks off—adding a proven playmaker to enhance their offense.
Incomplete Offensive Overhaul
The Jets are in dire need of additional playmakers for Justin Fields. While their running back situation is strong, their group of pass-catchers remains incomplete. Garrett Wilson is a dependable No. 1 option, but beyond him, the receiving corps lacks depth. In fact, one could argue that New York has one of the weakest collections of wide receivers and tight ends in the entire NFL.
