Unfortunate Update on Steph Curry Following Injury Against the Raptors

Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry returned to action on Thursday night against the Toronto Raptors after missing the previous game. Sitting out Tuesday’s matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, Curry watched as his team secured a 104-93 victory, maintaining their position as the Western Conference’s sixth seed.

Curry has been dealing with a back injury and hasn’t been at full strength. Anthony Slater of The Athletic highlighted this issue before Thursday’s game, mentioning on 95.7 The Game that Curry has been playing through the discomfort.

The concern grew even further when Curry took a hard fall on his back during the third quarter of Thursday’s game.

Curry was forced to leave the game after logging 25 minutes and scoring 17 points, walking slowly to the locker room. The Warriors later provided an unfortunate update, confirming that Curry had suffered a pelvic contusion and would not return.

“Stephen Curry (Pelvic contusion) will not return to tonight’s game,” the team announced via its PR account on X.

At 37 years old, Curry has battled multiple injuries this season. While he has frequently appeared on the injury report due to knee issues, a recent back problem has been the primary source of discomfort, leading Golden State to sideline him for Tuesday’s game.

Before Thursday’s matchup, Curry was averaging 24.3 points and 6.1 assists across 59 games. The Warriors entered the contest in strong form, winning eight of their last 10 games to stay clear of the Western Conference Play-In Tournament race.
