After three seasons with the Miami Dolphins, backup wide receiver River Cracraft is moving on. Per the Seattle Seahawks’ official X (formerly Twitter) account, the former Washington State wideout will be returning to the West Coast.
Cracraft missed the first nine weeks of the 2024 regular season due to a shoulder injury, but made a comeback to add depth to the wide receiver position and contribute on special teams. He finished the season with seven catches and 66 receiving yards in eight games.

Before joining Miami, Cracraft played for the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos. Over five seasons, he has recorded 32 receptions, 374 receiving yards, three touchdowns, and 23 first downs.
Although his statistics may not be eye-catching, Cracraft surpassed expectations in Miami. He was an important special teams contributor and a reliable blocker in the running game.
Cracraft’s future with the Dolphins became uncertain after the team signed former Titans wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to a two-year, $5.99 million contract. Like Cracraft, Westbrook-Ikhine is a strong blocker and special teams asset, but unlike Cracraft, he is also an offensive weapon, setting career highs with 32 receptions, 497 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns in 2024.
In Seattle, Cracraft will likely provide depth at wide receiver for a team transitioning from franchise staples Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. While he won’t take significant targets from top receivers like Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp, Cracraft’s versatility gives him a shot at making the roster.
