The former Buffalo Bills standout wide receiver’says Josh Allen should win MVP

Stefon Diggs seemed to have a stronger understanding for his former quarterback despite being separated from him for less than a season.

The former Buffalo Bills standout wide receiver spoke on X on Friday night when questioned about his recovery from a ruptured ACL and if he thinks Josh Allen should win MVP this season. After informing the fan that his recuperation is on track, Diggs stated that Allen merits the title of NFL Most Valuable Player.

“He should,” Diggs posted on X. “Shorty balling [for real].”

On schedule… He should be shorty balling.

Diggs appears to have gone a long way since asking a fan in April about his contribution to Allen’s overall success.

A Bills fan argued that Allen benefited from having Diggs, but that the receiver was not necessary for Allen’s success. Diggs discovered the tweet and replied with two words.

“You sure?”

Less than 24 hours later, the Bills dealt Diggs to the Houston Texans. It seems that Diggs was aware that his time in Buffalo was drawing to an end, and that everyone would realize in 2024 how badly Allen needed a player of Diggs’ skill.

Through 13 games, Allen appears to have adjusted well without his former No. 1 receiver. Allen is presently the MVP frontrunner, having thrown for 3,033 yards, 23 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He’s also rushed for 416 yards and nine touchdowns. Making matters even more impressive for Allen is the fact that the quarterback has sat out substantial sections of several games’ final quarters due to lopsided scores.

Diggs, like Allen, was finding success without his former quarterback. Diggs finished with 496 receiving yards and three touchdowns in eight games with the Texans. Diggs was on track to break 1,000 yards for the seventh time in a row, but he tore his ACL against the Indianapolis Colts, ending his season. With more time to observe games this season, Diggs clearly understands the answer to the question he posed in April.
