Alabama football suffered a stunning 24-3 setback to Oklahoma last weekend and sorely needs to rebound this Saturday in the Iron Bowl versus Auburn. The Crimson Tide must win this Week 14 matchup if they hope to make the enlarged College Football Playoff. Alabama icon Mark Ingram definitely believes in his alma university, which explains why he feels the Tide will respond and win a statement game at home against a fierce foe.

“I see Alabama football getting back on track in this Iron Bowl, man,” says Ingram. “Because there’s a lot of chirp going on, bro. I’m not sure if you’ve heard it, but there’s been a lot of chirp on the Auburn side. They say Ryan Williams isn’t one of them, and Jalen Milroe isn’t either. Saying ‘Bama ain’t one of them. It’s going on in the media; they’re popping their thing. But hey, I know ‘Bama; they’re just getting ready. They are behind the scenes.
They have to bounce back, man. Because the last week was a terrible loss, man. So, if you want any chance of being one of the three losing teams to make it in, you have to dominate this weekend in the Iron Bowl.
Oklahoma dominated the Tide defense on the run in Week 13, but Ingram believes they will improve. He also relies on Jalen Milroe to perform:
“And listen, the Alabama defense, I just appreciate them because they’ve gotten better and better throughout the season,” Ingram was saying. “They’re having problems stopping the run. Auburn allowed 257 rush yards to Oklahoma last week, and they have a decent back coming in this week. So they’ll need to be on point and shore up their run defense. But it all boils down to Jalen “Milly” Milroe. When he performs the way he can, Alabama is the most dominant college football team. When he takes care of the football and makes the correct reads, we are a difficult team to beat. He has eight interceptions in his last seven games, including three last week.
The Sooners’ loss was absolutely deflating. Alabama football was outgained 325-234, and Milroe played likely the worst game of the season. He completed 11 of 26 passes, threw three interceptions, and scored zero touchdowns.
For what it’s worth, Alabama has dominated the Iron Bowl in recent years. They have won four consecutive meetings, but two of them were quite close.
Alabama football has something to prove, and there is a lot at risk.
