Texas HC Steve Sarkisian’s devastating 2-word message on Quinn Ewers’ possible final home

The Texas football team is preparing for their final home game of the 2024 regular season, against the Kentucky Wildcats, on November 23. The game could be standout junior quarterback Quinn Ewers’ final home game at Texas, as he could declare for the 2025 NFL Draft or transfer. When asked if Ewers will suit up for the crucial game during a press conference on Monday, Steve Sarkisian responded in cryptic terms.

“No idea,” Sarkisian said, according to CJ Vogel of On Texas Football.

Quinn Ewers did not have his best season in 2024, but he remains one of the Longhorns’ most important contributors. In eight games, Ewers has passed for 1,898 yards and 21 touchdowns. He had a brief injury absence, during which Arch Manning took advantage of a starting opportunity.

Ewers appears to be in good health heading into Texas’ game against Kentucky, but it may not be his last at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The Longhorns might host a College Football Playoff game at home, depending on how the regular season ends. If Texas does host a game, Ewers may get the opportunity to play in front of his home fans again.

Texas looks forward to the CFP

Steve Sarkisian sees the expanded CFB format as a good for the NCAA. “I absolutely love it. I will be honest with you. “I love it,” Sarkisian stated in mid-November. “I’ve been waiting for this playoff for quite some time. “I always say we were the only sport without a true playoff,” Sarkisian remarked. “Every other sport, both professional and collegiate, has a playoff. We’ve got March Madness. We’ve got the NCAA baseball tournament and the College World Series. Everyone has it, whether in the NBA or the NFL. You know, we and boxing are the only sports that do not have playoffs. And so I think it’s fantastic that we’re finally getting it.

Sarkisian’s Texas football team must compete hard in their last regular-season games as they prepare for what should be a deep CFP run.
