Deion Sanders and Colorado have landed a major recruit who will aid the squad in the post-Travis Hunter era. Adrian Wilson, a four-star wide receiver, committed to Colorado on Saturday, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3. Wilson had originally pledged to Arizona State until decommitting on October 23rd. He had already stated his commitment to both Oregon and TCU.
“I’d want to take a moment to offer my heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to participate in your program. “After careful consideration and reflection, I have decided to decommit from Arizona State University,” Wilson stated on X. “Reopening my recruitment was a difficult decision, as I have a lot of respect for the coaching staff and the vision you have for the team.
Wilson is most excited about the possibility to play for the Buffaloes because of the offense’s approach.
“What excites me the most is the opportunity to go somewhere in the air-raid offense and start,” he told On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
Wilson will be in town for Colorado’s big game against Cincinnati, and he is looking forward to watching the offensive in person.
“Getting to know the folks on campus. Getting to ask Travis (Hunter) questions. And got to see an air-raid attack. There aren’t very many air raids in college football anymore.”
According to 247Sports, Wilson is the country’s No. 35 receiver and the No. 39 overall athlete in Texas.
Wilson is Sanders and the Buffaloes’ most recent high-profile commitment. This cycle, five four-star recruits have committed to Colorado: wide receiver Quanell Farrakhan Jr., offensive lineman Chauncey Gooden, cornerback Alex Graham, who became the class’s first member in April, and safety Antonio Branch, who transferred from Penn State in September.
The Buffaloes are now 5-2, one win away from bowl eligibility, and remain in contention for the Big 12 Championship. They face 5-2 Cincinnati on Saturday at 10:15 p.m. EST. The game will be aired on ESPN.
