SAD NEWS: LSU have announced the death of another football staff member

That’s incredibly tragic news. Charles Baglio was a well-respected figure in the LSU football community and his passing is certainly a great loss. His dedication and commitment to the program over the years touched many lives. To lose him in such an unfortunate accident is heartbreaking.

The circumstances of the accident are deeply saddening, and my thoughts go out to his family, friends, and everyone in the LSU community who knew and worked with him.

Charles Baglio’s impact on both LSU and Louisiana high school football is undeniable. His decades-long career as a coach and administrator left a lasting mark, not only through his accomplishments but also through the many lives he influenced. His tenure at Independence High School, with over 20 years as head coach and 205 victories, is a testament to his skill and dedication. Being one of the top 50 winningest coaches in Louisiana history and his induction into the LHSAA Hall of Fame in 2001 are fitting recognitions of his contributions to the sport.

His work at LSU as football director of external relations, spanning 20 years and aligning with some of the program’s greatest achievements, including three national championships and four SEC titles, further cemented his legacy. His passing is a great loss, and his contributions will not be forgotten by the LSU community and Louisiana football as a whole.

Charles Baglio lived a remarkable life, contributing significantly to Louisiana football for over five decades. At 81 years old, his passing is a significant loss to the LSU community and all those who knew him throughout his career. As funeral arrangements are pending, many will likely come together to honor his legacy and the positive impact he had on so many lives, both at LSU and in Louisiana high school football.

He will be remembered for his incredible dedication, leadership, and the countless memories he helped create during his long career. My thoughts remain with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
