BREAKING NEWS: Just In, LSU Football icon seeks the position of LSU Running Back Coach

The current LSU staff is firing on all cylinders, and it’s difficult to imagine any coaches leaving unless it’s for a Head Coaching offer. This staff will have a plethora of appealing alternatives owing to both their on-field track record and their success on the recruiting trail, where LSU excels.

Frank Wilson, the running backs coach and Associate Head Coach at LSU, has been one of the most successful coaches in his second stint. Wilson has been the Tigers’ top recruiter during his time at LSU, bringing in massive recruits year after year and dominating in-state recruiting.

Leonard Fournette, one of Wilson’s former outstanding talents, has put his hat in the ring to be Wilson’s successor, tweeting about his desire to teach LSU’s running backs.

When the time comes to eventually replace Wilson, nearly every LSU fan would be on board with hiring Fournette. Who would be better as a recruiter than Fournette, who could tell recruits that he knows what it takes to dominate at the college and NFL levels because he’s done it himself? Fournette is one of the most popular LSU alumni and would instantly be a massive hit with recruits around the country, especially in Florida, where he played in the NFL.

If Fournette is serious about becoming a coach, he should join the LSU staff in some way to gain experience. JaCoby Stevens has done something similar by joining the team as a recruiting specialist and acquiring experience in order to advance to a more senior position.
