The Montreal Canadiens made an intriguing decision in 2024, picking Michael Hage with the 21st overall pick in the draft.
It’s important mentioning that Kent Hughes engineered a deal particularly to move up a few positions and choose Hage.
Prior to joining the Michigan Wolverines in the NCAA, Michael demonstrated his attacking prowess with the Chicago Steel in the USHL.
Last season, he scored 75 points in 54 games, earning him a berth at university.
An acquisition by Kent Hughes already turning heads: strong start to the season for Michael Hage in the NCAA
Michael Hage has certainly made a name for himself since joining Michigan.
In just four games, he has six points, including three goals. His strong start to the season on the second line shows he could be a key member of the Canadiens’ future lineup.

His potential is already being recognized, and Kent Hughes, the Canadiens’ general manager, may have discovered a future cornerstone for the organization.
Michael Hage might sign a deal with Montreal in a few seasons, or even months, and join the big club sooner than expected.
Fans have reason to be excited as the team works to develop a solid roster for the future.
Hage, an 18-year-old forward, is 6-foot-1 and weighs 187 pounds. A certain Craig Button (together with Steven Ellis) recently indicated that he may be one of the top ten players available in the 2024 draft.
His truncated 2022-23 season (10 points in 13 games) may be the sole cause for his’slide’ to the 21st overall pick by the Montreal Canadiens.
He will undoubtedly be an interesting name to follow in the coming years.
