According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the Bears have signed Jake McQuaide and Jamree Kromah to their practice squad. That resulted in Travis Bell’s release.
McQuaide has appeared in 190 games over his 13-year career. The 36-year-old has two Pro Bowl appearances, having played for the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams (2011-20), Dallas Cowboys (2021-22), and Detroit Lions (2023).

Despite the possibility that Daly is healthy, the Bears want to be prepared. They don’t want to send Kmet back out there, which is understandable. His primary concentration should be on offense, as he just had five catches for 70 yards and two touchdowns, a season high.
McQuaide is a player that can come straight in and do his job. Fortunately, their next game is on October 27, when the Bears travel to Washington to face the Commanders at 3:25 CT.
Through six weeks of the NFL season, the Chicago Bears’ defense has been among the best in the league. This is due in great part to their secondary education and its depth.
That unit was tested this week in London, where backups Elijah Hicks and Jaylon Jones started. Both Hicks and Jones performed admirably in place of Jaquan Brisker and Tyrique Stevenson, respectively.
During the game, nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon suffered a hamstring injury, putting the Bears’ depth to the test. Before leaving, Gordon was having a great time flying around to the ball.
Although Gordon’s replacement, Josh Blackwell, performed admirably, losing him for an extended period of time would be devastating to the Bears’ defense.
According to Courtney Cronin of ESPN, on Monday, head coach Matt Eberflus informed reporters, “Gordon had imaging done this morning, but the severity is yet uncertain. However, we remain hopeful. We are lucky that the bye week has arrived, and we have some free time.”
Matt Eberflus said Kyler Gordon (hamstring) was getting imaging done this morning and did not have an update yet on the severity of his injury. "But we’re hopeful. We’re fortunate that the bye week is here and we have some extra time…"

Eberflus is correct in saying that the Bears are fortunate to have a bye week, which will allow Gordon to heal. If the Bears did not have a bye this week, Gordon is certain to miss the upcoming game.
The best-case scenario for Gordon and the Bears’ defense is that he sustains a pull or strain. If it’s something more serious, Gordon will have to miss several games. If that happens, Blackwell will have to come in again, which isn’t ideal for the Bears, despite his strong performance.
