There were some minor changes from Ole Miss and South Carolina in Thursday’s SEC Player Availability Reports. As of October 3, this is what it looks like.
In Thursday’s updated SEC Player Availability Report, there were a few adjustments to Saturday’s game between the Ole Miss Rebels and the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Among the most notable changes:
Jayden Williams of Ole Miss has been downgraded from doubtful to out. Antwane Wells Jr. and Caden Prieskorn have been added to the list, but are considered probable. Cayden Lee has been downgraded from probable to questionable. Tre Harris’ status has been upgraded to probable. Brandon Turnage and Trey Amos have been removed.
It looks like South Carolina’s quarterback **LaNorris Sellers** has been upgraded to probable for Saturday’s matchup, which could change the dynamics of the game. On the other hand, **Kelvin Hunter** being ruled out weakens South Carolina’s defense. For Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin’s comments about the team regrouping after a disappointing loss show that they are focused and aware of the challenge ahead, especially against a South Carolina team that has had some close calls against top competition.
With kickoff at 2:30 p.m. CT/3:30 p.m. ET, the game will be a key test for both teams. Kiffin’s focus on the difficulty of playing in Columbia highlights the respect for South Carolina’s talent and the importance of avoiding mistakes.
According to the conference’s policy, SEC schools must submit availability reports three days before each Conference football game (starting on Wednesday for a Saturday game), with daily updates leading to a final report 90 minutes before game time.
Prior to game day, student-athletes will be classified as “available,” “probable,” “questionable,” “doubtful,” or “out” for their next game. To improve clarity on game day, student-athletes will be labeled as “available,” “game time decision,” or “out” for the upcoming game.
Failure to produce correct and timely availability reports may result in sanctions ranging from $25,000 for a first violation to $100,000 for third and subsequent crimes in football.
