Minnesota’s standout receiver says his damaged quad “feels great” and he’s looking forward to facing his former LSU colleague, Houston defender Derek Stingley Jr.
Justin Jefferson declared himself ready to face a 2-0 Texans squad on Sunday, which would most likely shadow him with an old college friend from LSU’s 2019 national championship team.
Jefferson expressed confidence that he will play, adding that his damaged quad “feels great.” Every day, it feels much better. “Just staying in the treatment room and making sure I feel great on Sunday.”
That may be good or terrible news for Derek Stingley Jr., the Texans’ cornerback.
In 2022, Stingley was taken third overall, tying the NFL record for the highest choice ever made for a cornerback. In 2023, he had five interceptions, ranking fourth in the league, for one of the NFL’s greatest defenses. Last week, he shadowed Chicago’s standout receiver D.J. Moore in the second half, blanketing him on an interception that resulted in a field goal and a nine-point fourth-quarter advantage.
