The Cleveland Browns placed David Bell on injured reserve due to a hip injury that requires surgery, likely ending his season. They signed running back Royce Freeman, a seven-year NFL veteran, and wide receiver Jaelon Darden to the practice squad. Freeman, formerly with Denver and the Rams, has played in 79 games, rushing for 1,792 yards and 10 touchdowns. He will wear No. 28. Meanwhile, running back Pierre Strong is week-to-week with a hamstring injury.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski expressed disappointment over David Bell’s season-ending hip injury but praised Bell for his work ethic and contributions to the team. Bell, drafted in the third round in 2022, was initially sidelined with a quad injury this season but rejoined the active roster in September. Stefanski said Bell remains a valued teammate and believes he will continue to support the team during his rehab. Bell’s teammates also appreciate his dedication and perseverance.
