MAJOR BOOST: Wembanyama’s playing agent as Olympic teammate is set to join San Antonio Spurs

The Olympics are gone, and the NBA’s best players can begin to return to their respective corners. It’s like when superheroes get together to fight an Avengers-level menace. Thor returned to Asgard, Tony Stark went to his mansions, and Captain America returned to military duty once the task was completed. However, non-superstars participate to these conflicts, and what happens to them thereafter is mentioned less frequently.

Guerschon Yabusele says he's ready for return to NBA - Yahoo Sports

With the NBA season still two months away, rosters are not finalized. Due to the new CBA sanctions, teams are making fewer deals than in previous years. If you can better your team by adding one of the players who made a name for themselves in the style of Channing Tatum, you should do so, and one of the competition’s surprise stars isn’t afraid to express his feelings.

The Spurs should take a flier on Yabusele

Guerschon Yabusele demonstrated why he deserves another chance in the NBA; with little effort, his style of play can fit in with what the Spurs are looking for. It felt like he was a gunner, needing to get his shots up to be effective, but he’s a decent passer, despite the fact that it’s not his strongest suit. He lacks lateral quickness, although Wembanyama’s presence limits the distance he needs to travel. Making sound decisions and playing with energy can help him get through.

He wasn’t terrified of the situation, which is worth noting. He averaged 14 points per game in the Olympics’ group and elimination rounds, and in the last three games, he scored 22, 17, and 20 points. He’s a physical player who takes advantage of his 6’8″, 280-pound size. His three-ball was off throughout the tournament, but he hit 39% and 48% from distance in the two Euro Leagues he competed in last season.

San Antonio presently has a full roster, so bringing him in would necessitate the departure of someone, but that is why non-guaranteed contracts exist.

Yabusele previously spent two seasons with the Boston Celtics, when he was 22 and 23 years old. Now, at 28, it would be a terrific story to see him return to the league after performing well on a global scale and carving himself a successful NBA career.
