Harrison Brunicke, a Kamloops Blazers defenceman, has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Brunicke set a career high with 10 goals and 21 points from the Blazers’ blue line in his second complete WHL season. Brunicke, a third-round pick in 2021, has participated in 110 career games for Kamloops.
Earlier this year, the 18-year-old earned gold for Canada at the 2024 U18 World Championships.
Brunicke was taken 44th overall in the 2024 NHL Draft by Pittsburgh, becoming him the first South African-born skater to be drafted by an NHL club.
