The Auburn Tigers have added the Jacksonville State Gamecocks to their 2026 football schedule, according to reports released Friday.
Auburn will host Jacksonville State at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama, on Saturday, September 26, 2026. According to the source, the game is a solo title rather than part of a series.
“We’ve had the chance to play down there before, and it was obviously a competitive game,” said Jacksonville State athletics director Greg Seitz. “This is a great opportunity for our student-athletes, coaches and fans.”
Jacksonville State was a member of the FCS (Football Championship Subdivision) when the schools last played in 2015. The Tigers won that game 27-20 in overtime. The Gamecocks are presently members of the FBS and CUSA.
Auburn’s 2026 non-SEC schedule concludes with a game against Jacksonville State. The Tigers had scheduled games against Baylor (September 5) and Southern Miss (September 12) that year.
Jacksonville State is scheduled to play Georgia Southern at home on September 19, 2026.
