According to the Daily Mail, Jaden Philogene has hinted that he will join Everton this summer despite interest from other Premier League clubs.
The tabloid stated on July 7 that the Toffees have reached an agreement with the former Aston Villa player ahead of a possible move.
Ipswich Town is another team that has expressed serious interest, with the freshly promoted club bidding a combined £35 million for both Philogene and Jacob Greaves.
Why Everton want to sign Jaden Philogene this summer
Everton are preparing for a summer of change, having already signed Iliman Ndiaye [Fabrizio Romano, 3 July] and Jack Harrison.
Last season was a disaster for Sean Dyche’s side, as they were docked eight Premier League points.
Dyche’s midfield and defence were fairly good, particularly to Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana, but their assault was relatively feeble.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has spearheaded the Toffees’ line for several seasons but could be on his way out of Goodison Park, with a move to Newcastle being discussed.
Granted, Ndiaye and Harrison both play in attack, but the former is more of a number nine or attacking midfielder.
Harrison and Philogene are both wingers, but the 22-year-old can play anywhere in the front three, so a transfer makes sense.
He appeared in 32 games last season and scored 18 goals, indicating that he is ready to go up to the top division this summer.
In other Everton news, the club may have found a replacement for Dominic Calvert-Lewin should he leave this summer.
