Who Is Gassan Ahadme?

The striker progressed through the ranks of Club Gimnàstic Manresa before joining Norwich City U21 in 2019. The striker returned to Spain on loan for the 20/21 season, joining Real Oviedo.

When he returned to the Canaries, he signed a six-month loan agreement with League One side Portsmouth, where he played ten games and scored one goal.

When he returned, he was signed permanently by Burton Albion, where he stayed for six months until joining Ipswich Town.

In January 2023, he returned to the Brewers on loan until the end of the season, having played 29 games and scoring nine goals.

For the 23/24 season, the striker went out on loan again, this time to Cambridge United, where he scored 13 goals in 33 games.

What Is The Current Striker Situation At Charlton?

After Alife May left for Birmingham City, The Addicks now have four contracted strikers on their roster.

Miles Leaburn is a 20-year-old striker who scored three goals in 13 League One appearances last season. He is a Charlton academy prospect but has not played since November due to a Hamstring injury.

Matty Godden joined the club from Coventry City this summer and brings expertise at the top of the pitch. Godden has previously gained promotion from League One; with over 100 appearances in the Championship and over 75 in League One, he might be a useful addition. He is also a striker who likes to press the back line, which will be vital given Nathan Jones’ style of play.

Chuks Aneke joined Charlton in January 2022, but has struggled to get consistent playing time over the last two seasons. The 31-year-old has made over 200 League One appearances, so they might still contribute over the course of a season by tutoring Charlton’s younger attacking players.

Daniel Kanu The 19-year-old had a breakout season with Charlton last season, appearing in 42 League One games and scoring eight goals. The striker is a different sort than the present contract player, with pace in behind and dribbling abilities.

Would This Be A Good Signing?

Gassan would provide a physical danger to the Charlton frontline, winning an average of 6.58 aerial duels per 90 minutes, putting him in the 87% percentile, which might benefit Godden and Kanu, who both prefer to play on the last defender’s shoulder.

Despite the fact that Cambridge United only scored 38 goals last season, 24 of which came from open play, he still managed to score 11 league goals, averaging one per 180 minutes. T

He also exceeded his xG of 8.6, with all 11 of his goals coming within the box last season, giving the clinical edge that departed striker Alfie May provided.
