The tight end board is getting a little thinner for the Seminoles.
Florida State is considering adding two tight ends to its 2025 class to shore up a weak place on the squad. To find the ideal match for the role, the Seminoles will need to widen their recruiting board in fall.
On Saturday, three-star tight end Hollis Davidson committed to Auburn over Florida State. He originally listed the Seminoles as one of his top two picks for the Tigers approximately a week ago.

FSU had been courting Davidson since granting him a scholarship last year. He traveled to Tallahassee three times this offseason, including an official visit at the end of June. Despite Davidson’s initial commitment to Auburn in February, the Seminoles maintained their interest. It will be interesting keeping an eye on whether they continue to kick the tires or go on.
Davidson is coming off a junior season in which he caught 30 receptions for 436 yards and three scores, helping McIntosh High School to a playoff appearance. In addition, he plays prep soccer.
According to 247Sports, the 6-foot-5, 238-pound tight end is ranked as the No. 422 overall prospect, the No. 24 TE, and the No. 48 recruit in Georgia for the 2025 class.
Florida State has nine verbal commitments in #Tribe25, which ranks No. 39 in the USA. Last weekend, the Seminoles beat over Nebraska, Texas A&M, and Missouri to sign four-star tight end Chase Loftin.
