Charlton Athletic have signed Coventry City striker Matt Godden.
According to the South London Press, the Addicks have signed the seasoned frontman to a two-year contract with an option for an additional year.
Godden, 32, has 32 goals and eight assists in 117 Championship games.
Charlton manager Nathan Jones has made strengthening his frontline a priority.
The Addicks manager is sure to want five first-team strikers at his disposal next season, but is ready to bid farewell to Alfie May, who will join Birmingham City on a three-year contract after a sum was agreed.
May scored 27 goals in all competitions last season, including 23 in the league, earning the division’s Golden Boot trophy.
Godden will battle for a forward slot with Miles Leaburn, Chuks Aneke, and Daniel Kanu, but another player is anticipated to join the squad.
He has 50 goals in 156 appearances with the Sky Blues, which he joined from Peterborough in 2019.
