Ben Godfrey is set for a medical with Atalanta late this morning before leaving Everton this summer.
The 26-year-old defender is on the verge of leaving Everton during the current transfer window.
Atalanta and Everton have agreed on a contract, and the defender is now expected to go to Italy to complete the transfer paperwork.
Other clubs expressed interest in Godfrey, but the defender was clear that he wanted to join the Serie A club this summer.
According to Italian sports station Sky Italia, the defender will have a medical with the Italian squad today.
Godfrey will be put through his paces in a medical this morning as Atalanta works to finalize the agreement.
Personal terms have already been agreed upon between the player’s representation and Atalanta for the transfer to proceed.
Everton are expected to receive an initial €10 million for the sale of Godfrey, who joined the club from Norwich in 2020 for an initial sum of €24 million.
