The Rebels are attempting to replace many pieces from their 2024 NCAA Tournament club.
Taylor Roman, a former Louisiana player, just committed to the Ole Miss softball program through the transfer portal in the offseason of 2024.
The infielder, originally from Missouri City, Texas, missed the entire 2024 season and will be a graduate student this season with two years of eligibility remaining.
Roman had a.283 lifetime batting average in four seasons at Lafayette, with 47 hits, 39 runs scored, 10 home runs, and 37 RBI in 166 at-bats. Roman has a career fielding percentage of.995.
Ole Miss’ 2024 season ended in Lafayette last month during the NCAA Tournament. In the end, the Rebels finished 31-27 overall and dead last in SEC play, despite earning their seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. Ole Miss will begin the 2025 season in their brand-new softball complex on the grounds of the old ballpark. Jamie Trachsel, head coach of Ole Miss, will enter her fifth season in 2025.
