Amy Sims’ lengthy relationship with Derby County Women will end this summer.
The 25-year-old has decided to leave the Ewes after making 163 senior appearances and scoring 57 goals.
Sims, who came through the ranks of the Women’s Academy and had a brief one-season stay with Notts County, had been a member of the Ewes’ senior squad since 2017/18.
She played in a variety of positions on the pitch and transitioned from right back to attacking midfield in the 2022/23 season with remarkable success.
She shared the Golden Boot trophy with Burnley’s Millie Ravening, who scored 18 goals in the league, and Sims’ achievements throughout the year, which included 19 goals in 26 appearances across all competitions, earned her a spot on the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division Team of the Season.
Sims, who was the Ewes’ Young Player of the Season in 2021/22, was named Team Captain for the 2023/24 season, with Hannah Ward taking on the Club Captain role, and she responded with another excellent season in front of goal, scoring 21 goals in all competitions.
She also scored in the historic FA Women’s National League Plate Final victory over Cambridge United in April of this year, and she and Ward joyously lifted the trophy.
Derby County wishes Amy continued success in her future endeavors and expresses gratitude for her contributions both on and off the field.
