Since the collegiate baseball transfer portal window began 17 days ago, Ole Miss has had eight outgoing transfers and zero arriving.

Grayson Saunier, a rising junior right-handed pitcher, is the newest outbound transfer at Ole Miss, according to Inside the Rebels, as first reported by The Rebel Walk.

Saunier concluded his sophomore season with 35 strikeouts and 16 walks, allowing 50 hits and 30 runs over 44.2 innings thrown (5.64 ERA). The Memphis, Tennessee native went 4-3 (11 appearances) on the mound for the Rebels in 2024. Saunier had 23 appearances on the mound (6-7) with the Diamond Rebels during the last two seasons, striking out 87 hitters while allowing 68 runs (63 earned) and 103 hits in 90.2 innings (6.25 ERA).

Saunier had one of his best performances of the year in a critical game versus Southern Miss this past season, coming off an incredible series win over the now-championship-worthy Texas A&M Aggies. Ultimately, Ole Miss squandered a big lead, but Saunier finished with five hits, three earned runs, and five strikeouts. That night, he only allowed one run in the first four innings.

“Grayson pitched exceptionally well tonight and deserves much more than the outcome of the game.”I felt he was good. Today wasn’t as fantastic as last week for curveballs, but it was more of a slider. It was the best changeup day he’d had in a long. He was able to locate his fastball. He began to lose feel for the fastball at the finish, but we had a number of chances to get them off the field in the fifth inning. In Saunier’s final game as a Rebel, Bianco stated, “We didn’t make the play then didn’t make the pitches out of the bullpen to save a better outing for him.”

“Coach B is always talking about simply going out and competing. I believe that’s exactly what I attempted tonight….I’m attempting to throw a lot of first pitch strikes, just going right at them and allowing the guys behind me to make some plays in the field. We definitely needed that one today, but we have a big weekend ahead of us, and we’re going to play our best baseball this weekend,” Saunier said ahead of Ole Miss’ regular-season series finale.

Ole Miss’ outgoing transfers include catcher Eli Berch, LF John Kramer, RHP Cole Tolbert, LHP Corey Braun, RF Seth Farni, RHP Gabe Smith, C Trenton Lyons, and now Saunier.
