The offseason recruitment chase is underway. A large number of Power Five schools are currently awarding scholarships to promising young high school standouts. While many of them are offensive weapons, defensive threats are also receiving considerable attention. Chuck McDonald has long been touted as one of the finest cornerbacks in 2025. USC, Georgia, and Alabama football programs have all expressed interest in him. But it all came down to Kalen DeBoer’s Crimson Tide over Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs.
According to Andrew Bone of On 3 Sports, Chuck McDonald has decided to commit to Alabama’s football team. The six-foot-one cornerback has gone under the radar of most colleges seeking for a defensive boost. He can track route runners and jump as high as most wide receivers.
Chuck McDonald was enthralled on his visit to Tuscaloosa. But it was Kalen DeBoer’s staff who helped him make an informed decision. They appear to have had a significant impact in his decision-making, along with his former teammates Zabien Brown and Domani Jackson.
“Just everything.” The coaching. Everyone seemed to be solid up there. Everyone appears real. I appreciate the coaching experience they have. Coach Mo has been the head coach. I also spoke with some of my old teammates. They told me the truth about how everything exists. It simply felt perfect. If you want to be the best, go to Alabama. “There is nowhere else to be,” the new Alabama football recruit stated.
McDonald comes from the same program that has produced excellent cornerbacks for Alabama football. Brown and Jackson have both performed admirably for the Crimson Tide thus far. Not to note, Bryce Young, the first overall choice in the 2023 NFL Draft, attended the same school as McDonald.
Alabama steals him under the nose of Georgia
McDonald appeared to still have a large number of visits to complete. However, the Alabama football program drew him in ways that Kirby Smart’s Georgia football program could not. Aside from the Bulldogs, he was scheduled to visit USC and Oregon. However, none of those are likely to happen now that he has expressed a desire to play for the Crimson Tide.
Now he’s just thrilled that the next step in realizing his aspirations has finally arrived.
“It feels good to be dedicated. It’s simply different here. I am grateful to be in this situation. I informed Coach Mo of the commitment. He was excited. He was ready for me to start. Everything is OK in Alabama. People say the new personnel will not be the same, but they will maintain that level. “I know that for certain,” he asserted.
Kalen DeBoer may not be Nick Saban, but his ability to attract recruits is practically identical. He comes from a winning culture and is likely to instill the same victorious spirit in the Alabama football program. Hopefully, everyone who trusted him to start their college careers will not be disappointed and may perhaps win a College Football Playoff National Championship.
