To make meaningful roster changes for the upcoming season, the Milwaukee Bucks will undoubtedly have to part ways with some prized assets. This might take the form of sharpshooting guard Pat Connaughton, who is entering the final year of his current contract.
According to Bleacher Report’s most recent trade proposal, parting ways with Connaughton might fetch the Bucks a player like the Chicago Bulls’ Ayo Dosunmu.
Ayo Dosonmu to the Milwaukee Bucks?
B/R’s Dan Favale believes Dosunmu would be an excellent addition to Milwaukee’s roster. The Bucks, on the other hand, will have to make a substantial trade in order to acquire the 6-foot-5 shooting guard. The following are the details of the trade proposal:
Bucks receive: Ayo Dosunmu.
The Bulls acquire Pat Connaughton, the 23rd pick.
Connaughton is a fan favorite, so parting ways with him will be difficult. To acquire Dosunmu, the Bucks will have to give up their lone first-round pick in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft.
According to Favale, the 24-year-old is worth his weight in gold, especially considering what he may add to the Bucks’ defense.
“Milwaukee’s rotation requires an injection of flexibility and vigor on the perimeter. Dosunmu has it in spades. At 6’5″ in shoes and a wingspan of 6’10”, he can defend both guard positions and scale up to certain wings. “Taking on star covers is also an option,” Favale added.

While some Bucks are quick to dismiss the idea of dealing Connaughton, more than a few others believe it is a transaction worth making:

Dosunmu isn’t a star, but he might be an important part of Milwaukee’s rotation in 2024-25, especially with a few of guys reportedly on their way out via NBA free agency.
