Following an amazing and successful season in 2023, one of Ole Miss’ most pressing needs was cornerback. Lane Kiffin lost both of his starting cornerbacks (11+ starts each) for the first time since the end of the 2021 season, as Keidron Smith and Deane Leonard left.
In the 2022 season, the Rebels moved Deantre Prince to full-time starter, with true freshman Davison Igbinosun lined up across from him. There was a lot of trial and error that led to Ole Miss determining who was and wasn’t going to be around for the next year.
Ole Miss wants to see less error in their upcoming trial, two years after a similar issue.
