Alabama standout Mark Sears has been connected to Milwaukee as a potential draft pick. As it turns out, the Bucks will have to seek elsewhere after the 6-foot-1 guard made a huge revelation about his future on Wednesday night.

Crimson Tide fans have been waiting for an update from Sears as the deadline to withdraw from the NBA Draft approached. The day of reckoning finally arrived on Wednesday, and true enough, Sears made the decision to run it again with Alabama for one more year:

Sears, who averaged 21.5 points, 50.8 percent shooting, 4.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game last season, has elected to return to Alabama for his fifth and final season. The 22-year-old will formally withdraw from the draft as he works to strengthen his chances for next year.

For their part, the Bucks were urged to explore Sears as a potential Patrick Beverley replacement if the tenacious veteran decides to leave Milwaukee in NBA free agency. There is no guarantee that Pat Beverley will go, but the Bucks will now have to search elsewhere to satisfy their backcourt requirements this offseason.
