The Ole Miss Rebels are looking forward to the 2024 college football season. They finished 11-2 last season under head coach Lane Kiffin. Last season, Ole Miss won the Peach Bowl against Penn State Nittany Lions of the BIG10 Conference.
In 2024, the Ole Miss Rebels hope to be one of several SEC Conference teams to participate in the newly expanded college football playoff field. They will compete with the Georgia Bulldogs and the Texas Longhorns as some of the top teams in the SEC Conference.
The Rebels’ attack might be one of the most electrifying in the country. Jordan Watkins, a wide receiver, has a chance to be one of two players on the squad to reach 1,000 receiving yards this season.
Senior quarterback Jaxson Dart could be a dark horse contender for the Heisman Trophy this season. Georgia quarterback Carson Beck and Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers are two probable Heisman Trophy winners this season. Dart will have a plenty of skill returning to the wide receiver position. The Ole Miss Rebels program could be in good hands after he graduates.
Ole Miss Rebels Backup Quarterback Austin Simmons Works Out With Miami Dolphins Wide Receiver Jaylen Waddle
Simmons is the Ole Miss Rebels’ backup quarterback behind Jaxson Dart. He just uploaded a video on Twitter about working out with Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
Austin Simmons is currently undergoing treatment to prepare for the 2024 collegiate football season after spraining his UCL during conference play in baseball. Simmons elected to rehab his injury rather than have surgery.
He is presently a freshman and will start his sophomore season in 2024. Simmons, a Moore Haven, Florida native, is 6’3″ and weighs 195 pounds. He is a left-handed thrower.
In his final year of high school, he passed 3,253 yards and 27 touchdowns. Austin Simmons will most likely not play during his sophomore season unless Jaxson Dart is injured or the Rebels are in a lot of blowouts and he is on mop-up duty.
Simmons might be the starting quarterback for this program in 2025. He will learn a lot from Jaxson Dart in 2024 when he joins the Ole Miss Rebels as a signal caller. However, Austin Simmons’ workout with Jaylen Waddle drew a lot of attention because Waddle attended another SEC school, the Alabama Crimson Tide.
