Sparks was the Rebels’ finest pitcher down the stretch this year.
The Ole Miss softball team’s march of attrition continued Thursday evening, when pitcher Grace Sparks joined the NCAA transfer portal. Sparks’ entrance occurred just a few hours after Ole Miss standout center fielder Jailia Lassiter declared her admission inside the portal. The two will join pitcher Catleyn Riley, who announced her resignation from the Rebels earlier this week.
According to Inside the Rebels, several more players will enter the gateway during the following 24-48 hours.
Sparks was Ole Miss’ greatest pitcher down the stretch, propelling the Rebels to their ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament. This season, she went 9-7 with a 2.14 ERA in 78.1 innings pitched. She had 56 strikeouts and 29 walks. She went 4-4 with a 3.04 ERA in 48.1 innings thrown as a freshman in 2023.
Sparks is a native of Crosby, Texas.
