Breaking News: Suns GM delivers shocking message about team’s stance on potentially trading Big Three

The Phoenix Suns have not met expectations since signing Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal to join Devin Booker. But this doesn’t mean the team is giving up.

Phoenix Suns' Big 3 of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal play together for the first time... but they fall short against the Brooklyn Nets with old boys Mikal Bridges and

Suns general manager James Jones spoke with Arizona Sports radio’s “The Burns and Gambo Show” on Friday. Jones asserted unequivocally that the Suns will not break up their big three.

That’s hardly a great surprise.

The Suns finished 49-33, earning the sixth spot in the crowded Western Conference. They were eliminated from the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round.

Rather than blaming the players, the Suns quickly fired Frank Vogel and hired Mike Budenholzer to replace him. They gave up a lot of assets to bring in Durant and Beal. They’ll make a coaching change first and do everything they can to give that nucleus of players another chance to win a title before splitting up.

The Suns’ primary concern is keeping their players healthy and available. Durant will be 36 years old and entering his 16th season in the NBA, while Beal will be 31 and in his 12th season. In other words, they are not becoming any younger.
