While the majority of Auburn’s work in the spring transfer portal window has been completed, Hugh Freeze has stated that he and his staff are open to the notion of signing a defensive back.
And the Tigers appear to have found someone who fits the criteria, as former Arkansas State and Northwestern State safety Antwon Fegans Jr. revealed his pledge to Auburn via social media Wednesday evening.

Fegans Jr., a 3-star prospect from Oxford, Alabama, received offers from UAB, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and other schools, but he began his career at Arkansas State, where he appeared in just four games over two seasons before transferring to Northwestern State.
Fegans Jr. appeared in six games for Northwestern State throughout the 2022 and 2023 seasons, including five last autumn.
When Fegans Jr. arrives to Auburn, he will have three years of eligibility remaining.
While Fegans Jr. adds depth to Auburn’s defensive backfield, he also connects the Tigers to his younger brother, Anquon Fegans, a 4-star safety in the class of 2025 and a top target for Auburn.
Anquon Fegans, 247Sports’ 10th-ranked prospect in Alabama, has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, among others.
